Can't Find LibreOffice 5.2 After Install or Update

I used apt-get to install LibreOffice 5.1 current version. Went through
the entire procedure, but when I opened LibreOffice it was listed as
5.0.5.2 not 5.1. Within a day or two Update Manager indicated the
availability of LibreOffice 5.1 so I let it do the update. When I opened
LibreOffice it still said 5.0.5.2 and not 5.1. Any suggestions on how to
get the current version of LibreOffice? This is a Mint 17.3 64bit system
using Mate. No Compiz enabled. Thanks.

I'm not understanding yet, specifically the LO v. numbers as pertains to
apt-get.

The default Mint 17.3 LO is 5.0.3.2. The default repos as of today do
not contain LO 5.1, so apt-get wouldn't get 5.1.

Mint 17.3 is based on Ub 14.04 Trusty.

The LO Fresh .ppa repos for Trusty contain LO 5.0.5rc2. If you added
that .ppa to your sources you could apt-get 5.0.5.2

This is a Mint 17.3 64bit system using Mate. No Compiz enabled.
The 'Main' LO at the LO site is 5.1, which is also LO Fresh there. You
could dl a 5.1 .deb from such as that site; but then you would use dpkg,
not apt-get.

The LO site says that there are no rc/s for the 5.1 line, so there is no
such thing as a 5.1.x much less a 5.2.

I installed v. 5.1.0.3 (Build ID: 1:5.1.0~rc3-0ubuntu1~trusty0) from
the PPA (Mint 17.3). See my reply to the OP.

You are correct, sir.

I didn't look in the right place; enough place/s.

That 5.1 page
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/libreoffice-5-1?field.series_filter=trusty

Now that I'm drilling in there a little better, I've found a 5.1.1 rc
for trusty in 32 & 64 bit.

So what's the big improvement in 5.1 that 5.0.x doesn't support?

The LO page provides the release notes for LO Still which is currently
5.0.4 and LO Fresh which is 5.1.

https://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-notes/

I haven't read all that 'stuff' so I don't know what is important in
there. I'm still using my 17.1 distro's repo old default which is 4.2.8.

I don't spend much time in office suites.

I heard a rumor that win10 might have to be pulled from
the market. It seems that 1986 called. It wants the
2-D desktop back.

But 5.0.x is still in the 5x series. But I'm sure there are some new or
better features with 5.1 vs 5.0 (and maybe some shiny new bugs?).
