I know Microsoft are no longer supporting the deb version of Skype and
trying to force us to use SNAP, but the deb version seemed to be working
OK until today. The status of my contacts is no longer showing on the
Linux deb version, although they do on my Android phone and tablet. Has
anyone else noticed this, or is it just my Mint system playing up?

If Skype deb is dead, I need to find an alternative that my contacts can
use on Windows. I'm not using SNAP, so I guess it's Zoom?

Should work in MS Edge, which is available as DEB.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've now discovered that Skype.deb
still works, it just doesn't show the online status of contacts any
more. I'd rather not install an MS or Google browser, but Waterfox and
presumably Firefox[?] looks like it might work, although the Skype
website displays a message that it might have limited functionality.
