I'm running LM10 now and it's actually pretty nice. The only thing thus
far is Skype which isn't working. This netbook is equipped with some
extra's, like a bootexcellerator (which is disabled momentarily) and
also something in this processor to help prolong the battery life. I
don't know enough about it's special tricks but since I have a dual
boot, it seems that the machine doesn't use as often the fan under Win7,
as it does in LM10. So I'm actually wondering, is there a special distro
or maybe some kernel extension to download so certain features of this
netbook can be fully used? Don't get me wrong, I love LM10, as it does
sofar what I want with this little machine, but I wonder are there even
better distro's for this machine available.

I tested a lot distros over the last 2 years on my EeePC 1005HA. The
absolutly best and most responsive one is LMDE! Since I have installed
LMDE, there is no need to test anything else, since I have found the
perfect OS for my netbook now.

Everything works? Wifi? Cardreader? Bluetooth?
Skype(microphone/speakers)? Powerboot? Powersave? (I don't know if these
are specific for the PE model)
I might give it a try!

everything I use is working out of the box, which
includes Wifi, Cardreader, Bluetooth, Skype (with headset),
Camera.
I don't know what you exactly mean by powerboot and powersave.

It has something to do with ASUS Super Hybrid Engine It also makes your
netbook boot faster. Maybe there is hope:

But anyway, I might give this a try!

Personally I love Bodhi Linux (http://bodhilinux.com/) on my Asus EeePC
1000.
It is a less application heavy version of Ubuntu running the
Enlightenment E17 desktop. Very quick and responsive for a netbook, and
all the hardware works just fine.

I am a Mint man myself - Mint 11 to be precise.
