When I first started using Linux Mint I wanted my desktop icons on the right.
I found that if I selected all, I could drag them to the right.
Now in Mint 21.3 I cannot do that.

Am I forgetting something?

TIA Alan

You can't drag them anywhere? or just to the right.
Can you move one? telling us that auto arrange isn't on, or auto sort.

I can, so it's probably a setting.
In nemo->edit->plugins do you have the customize checked?
If not then check it. Now you can right click the desktop and customize. This will let you turn
on/off sort and auto arrange.

I am embarrased to say that I found the answer on-line.
You are correct. Auto arrange was ON.
